Cricut Explore Air 2 Download: Troubleshooting Common Issues and Errors

Design Space is a downloadable PC program, which allows you to create unique designs. It is a design tool where you can put together patterns and images for your designs. The app is free to download and use and comes with a simple interface. Note, however, that while it has a built-in patterns and shapes library, not all of them are free. Some images are only available for purchase.

Anyone have a solution to this? My district is piloting chromebooks for the teachers and Design Space has been placed on my approved Google Play Store apps. I downloaded the app but it keeps asking me to sign in to my google account. Ideas?

Google play is enabled in our district but there is some policy that is causing an error when using a gsuite account. It says you must login, but will not allow you to login to your cricut account. I have tried many policy changes and still have not figured it out.

I have a chrome notebook and also a cricut air 2. When I go to Bluetooth it say connected, if I look at device it tells me connected then changes to not connected. I followed all your steps. I am at a loss do you have any advice. Thank you

My chromebook loses bluetooth connection constantly and ruins projects (for some reason you cant use it with the cord). Also, you have to use the cricut app that was clearly designed for a phone and is missing a lot of functionality. Would highly recommend not using a cricut machine with a chromebook.

Hello, Thanks to this page i decided to keep my cricut and continue using it with my chormebook but after it sat for a few months it now wants a firmware update and I am at a loss. Before i lug this whole set up and beg someone to help me update it on their desktop. Any tips for getting the firmware to update? Of course I contacted Cricut and got the it can work on chromebooks limitedly but we do not support them and you can not update the firmware using one. So frustrating they cant play nice with more devices heck they may sell more.

Hello, I have a CB and just purchased the new cricut maker 3, i tried to connect it via bluetooth and followed all instructions and the cricut does not come up on my bluetooth devices for me to connect. I also tried it with the USB cord and nothing, is it the CB or the fact that is the new cricut maker and is not connecting to my CB. I need help am getting frustrated and I have tried numerous times and I have also uninstalled and re-installed the app and I turned the laptop and cricut off and on to see if that works and nothing, can someone please help.

I have an Acer Chromebook. After downloading the android ap.. the chromebook still gave me trouble in the design site..so I finally resorted to using my android phone to work on the design, copied and reduced my hand cut paper snowflake design, then printed it out and reduced, scanned to a USP uploaded to photos, and am using a stylus made from a q tip and aluminum foil to get rid of background on my tiny phone.. It is working great. Cutting my firsts in vinyl for mounting on plastic disks as ornaments. Thanks for your tips and help.

Answer: Connect the Explore machine to your device with the USB cord. Or you can pair it using Bluetooth. Then, go to cricut.com/setup in your browser. Next, download and Cricut Explore Air 2 Setup Design Space for Desktop. Do as the on-screen instructions are prompted to sign in or create your Cricut ID. And then set up your new machine.

Answer: The Cricut Explore Air, Cricut Joy, and Cricut Maker do not necessarily require a computer connection to cut the projects. You can also connect Cricut machines with iOS or Android devices. Set up and install Cricut Explore Air 2 machine via cricut.com/setup

There are many places to find free and paid fonts to download. For example, you can find free fonts on websites like fonts.google.com and dafont.com. Some of my favorite websites to find beautiful, high-quality fonts are Creative Market and Creative Fabrica.

Some fonts are much easier to cut than others. When you are choosing fonts to download, look for fonts with smooth, solid edges. Think twice about using sketch fonts, brush fonts, or fonts that have a lot of texture. Your Cricut will thank you, and reward you with faster, cleaner cuts.

Important: If you want the same font available across all of your devices (phone, computer, tablet), you will have to download and install the font onto each device. There is not currently a way to upload and store a font within Design Space, like there is with images.

hey i managed to get the font i wanted into cricut but it only comes in "regular" and not "writing" and i'm wanting to use the pen instead of cutting out the letter, do you know if there's anyway i can import it to have the writing style?

Love your posts! I began keeping track of my fonts when I started buying commercial. Unfortunately for me, I have many fonts that I had downloaded that were free for commercial use before I started separating them.

I am a newbie Cricut Maker owner, and I am was told to purchase scal 4 to work with rhinestones . how ever I am so confused now as to if it still works with the cricut maker an if so what version to get, plaese help and thank you in advance

Unzip the downloaded libcutter-master.zip and you will now need to copy the needed plugin files to your SCALCutPlugins folder which will be located in your Documents folder. If the SCALCutPlugins folder cannot be found you will need to run Sure Cuts A Lot so all the default folders for the program get created and then quit the program.

I used method 1 to connect my cricut expression to sure cuts a lot. The cricut cutter showed up and seemed to install correctly, but when I go to cut, it gives me an error message saying there is no recognized cutter and to check my USB connection, unplug the cricut and USB, wait 10 seconds, then plug back in. I tried both suggestions and am still getting the same error message. Do you have any advice of what I can try?

I have a Cricut Expression, and I am going to try downloading the above links for it. I have one question, though. I have a Cricut USB cable to connect to Cricut and computer. Will that work with the software for the Cricut Expression or do I need to download the libcutter plug-in?

Some users are finding that if the go to the App Store and download the new updated version of the app, this will resolve the issues they were having with Design Space trying to kick you out of the system. Additionally, I would start by deleting the existing app and then installing the new one for this Cricut Design Space fix for iOS operating systems.

So if you feel like you are always struggling with Cricut Design Space and wish there was one place you could go to learn how to use all of the buttons and features so you could spend your time just enjoying crafting then you should check out my Teach Me Cricut Design Space Online Course. This course is like having a direct line to my brain and downloading all of the information I know about using Cricut Design Space!

Any fonts that you downloaded and installed from sites like DaFont are installed on the device you are working with, whether that is your computer, iPad or phone. They are a part of that operating system and are not stored in Design Space. This is why they show up under System Fonts when you open Design Space.

In Cricut Design Space next to fonts and images you may have seen an option that says Download. If you have downloaded an image or a font in this manner, you will not lose it. Cricut Design Space is a program and when you download images or fonts they are not saved to your computer. Downloading them just makes them available for you to access if you are working with Design Space offline.

Here is a great example of working with Cricut Design Space offline. Pretend you are going on a long trip and will not have internet connect while traveling, maybe while you are on the airplane. If you download all of the images and fonts you know you will need for designing a project before getting on the plane, you will be able to use them to create projects while you are on the plane.

I hope that this helped you to understand Cricut Design Space a little better, and how to fix issues that may come up with program updates. If you want to learn more about Design Space you can join my Facebook group at Teach Me Cricut Design Space. I also have free handbooks you can download under the Classes section of this website. I actually enjoy troubleshooting Design Space issues with people so feel free to reach out to me!

I use ipad with my cricut. I never had any issues but immediately after the last update I could no longer cut thru my stickers. I changed the blade changed the pressure and tried different materials to no avail It was work9ng perfectly the night before the update. Do you think its related? Ive been looking everywherefor info for days. Thank you!

I have been unable to access my downloaded fonts in Cricut Design Space for the last 2 months. I contacted Cricut support and they had me uninstall and re-install and that still did not work. I am able to see my fonts in Photoshop and Word so I know this is a DS issue. I have a Mac, OS is 10.15.7.

Once you have followed all those steps for downloading free fonts to Cricut Design Space, you must go back into Cricut Design Space and reload the page. This forces Cricut to acknowledge the new font and add it to their list of fonts.

While you are adding fonts, grab a stencil font you like. You can create your own, but I cheat by just downloading one that already works. My blog post about stencil fonts explains why you will want to download your stencil font instead of making it.
