Whittlewood Concept Retort demonstration and talk at Wakefield Lodge Estate, near Towcester, Northamptonshire.
On Thursday 24th of June the Whittlewood team were lucky enough to do presentation on 'The Whittlewood Concept.' The RFS had a Summer meeting and had a planned visit to the Wakefield Lodge Estate for the day. We had a time slot just before lunchtime on their tour and had plenty of time to set up and get a burn going prior to their arrival.
Although initially it felt very intimidating to stand in front of 35 people and talk, we soon felt at ease with the interaction and enthusiasm of our captive audience.
We had time to explain our concept and talk about our roots in the restoration of Hazel coppice.
Our Retort was fully gasifying and gained a lot of interest and questions, which we all mucked in to answer, before moving onto samples we had prepared to show.
We had bought our charcoals and various grades and mixtures of biochar, which we talked at length on specific contents, application and uses.
All in all, it was a very positive day, with a lot of valued feedback.
We are now considering doing more open days and talks within our own working Woodland sites, some including hands on for the whole charcoal/biochar process.
Further information coming soon or if you would be interested in booking us for a talk and demo, please do not hesitate to contact The Whittlewood Concept team.
